I’m Feliria III, daughter of Felimina I the Banished. My mother was the heir of the kingdom Mountains #231. She told me that the kingdom was vast and prosperous. My great-grandmother, Feliria II the Lovely, conquered the kingdom by dominating the hairless giants who lived there with her charisma. At first she thought of teaching the giants the costumes of our kind and making them live like us, but in the end she decided to let them live the way they always had.
This proved to be a cunning and profitable move. The kingdom was built with the advanced architectural techniques of the giants. Instead of looking for a den, as was the custom, the giants made it. It started out as modest, but over time it became a true wonder. In some way they can dissolve the stone in a thick gray paste and then mold it at will. With this technique, they first built a large gray stone box that they later divided internally into smaller boxes. They are also able to encapsulate light in containers of what appears to be solid water. They use these drops of light to illuminate the inside of the stone boxes. That is somewhat awkward for us, but apparently the giants do not see well, so we allow them to use this encapsulated light so that they can adequately fulfill the honorable task of serving us.
I never knew this kingdom because my mother was banished before my birth. But every night she would tell me a new fragment of our legacy. This is how I learned the ways and manners of the court, in addition to also learning a lot about the hairless giants: they do not seem very intelligent and they are not at all elegant or educated, but they are capable of doing many things. We don't know how they do it and, according to my mother, most of us are not very interested in knowing, she included.
Some scholars say that our kind taught them everything they know and that, after generations without doing it ourselves, we simply forgot the techniques. Others maintain that the giants are intelligent, but that they simply do not know how to communicate with us. Those who claim this also say that the intelligence of these curious creatures is focused on learning, using and developing something called felitlas molden. The felitlas moldren are techniques to shape the world at the whim of those who know them. They seem so complex that their brains have no room for other knowledge.
Everything about the giants is intriguing to me. And, apparently, my great-grandmother was also intrigued. My mother told me that Feliria II kept watching these creatures in an attempt to find out how they did the marvelous things they did. On one occasion she approached the gray stone paste when it was freshly placed. She imagined it would be hot, but it wasn't; in fact, when she got closer she found that it was fresh to the touch. Unfortunately it was also very malleable and her paw got marked. When the giants discovered the mark it was already too late: the stone had hardened. They were upset and even insolent with my great-grandmother. That is another curious characteristic of them: they are usually very docile and helpful, they even adore us as deities, but if they discover that we have manipulated any of their creations, they tend to get so angry that they forget their position.
But, as always, I am rambling. I have started this journal to tell my story. To leave a document that tells how I got my own kingdom after being born in exile. However, today I have already extended too much. Without realizing it I have spent all the alone time that I had. I can hear the giants that live with me approaching the perimeter in their round-legged box; apparently they can also mold metal. I hear them open the door of the outer wall. It's time to hide this journal and get back to my regular activities.
